  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a large pot, adding a pinch of salt. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the noodles in a colander.
  3. Return the drained noodles to the pot over low heat. Add unsalted butter and stir until melted.
  4. Mix in salt and garlic powder; add reserved pasta water gradually for desired consistency.
  5. Remove from heat and toss with freshly grated Parmesan before serving.
