  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook ziti pasta in salted boiling water until al dente (8-10 minutes). Drain.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef until cooked through (6-8 minutes). Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir marinara sauce, garlic powder, and herbs into the meat; simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta with half the mozzarella and some Parmesan.
  6. Layer half the pasta, half the meat sauce, and all of the cheese mixture in a baking dish. Repeat layers.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle remaining mozzarella on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
